| About me
When I am not busy creating new jewelry designs, I enjoy time spent with my husband, Peter, our two daughters, Madison and Lillian, and our two greyhounds, Kirby and Ellen.
I am a graphic designer by training and education. I moved from Indianapolis, my home town, to Fairfax, Virginia, and began a career with a defense contractor. Several years later our first daughter was born, and I became a full time stay-at-home mother. One more child, two dogs, and twelve years later, I discovered the joy of making jewelry, thus the name of my business – Joie de Beads.
Designing and making jewelry is the perfect marriage of colors, shapes, and movement, plus some basic engineering. My designs are simply sophisticated and uniquely elegant. For me, life gets richer and lovelier with every passing year.

| Inspiration . . .
There is nothing like the feeling of gemstones. They are cool, smooth, and irresistable. There are so many shapes, sizes, and colors. When combined with freshwater pearls, crystal and sterling silver, something truly wonderful happens. There is no end to the possibilities for beautiful designs.
My collection of beads and findings is constantly growing and changing, as I find new and lovely things to work with. I can't always find the same things twice, but I always find something even more wonderful.
